WHAT I DO FOR FUN:

I enjoy being active. I love playing any kind of sport, whether I am good at it or not. I love exercising, especially outside. I really enjoy doing crafty things like scrapbooks and stuff along those lines. Other than that, I love spending time with friends and family, and I definitely love relaxing and watching movies.

FAVORITE THING ABOUT SHIPPENSBURG:

The friendships I’ve made that I know will last a lifetime. The first time I came and visited I fell in love with the campus. My parents wanted me to stay in state because of tuition, so I started my search from there. I was in between a few schools, but I was pulled into Shippensburg immediately.

INTERESTING THINGS ABOUT ME:

I have dual citizenship with Ireland. I wasn’t born there, but because my mom is 100% Irish (she wasn't born there either), we were able to go through a long process of paper work to get my entire family the dual citizenship.

CAMPUS ORGANIZATIONS/SPORTS/ACTIVITIES:

I am a member of Alpha Sigma Tau sorority. I volunteer at the Head Start here on campus and have a blast! It’s been awesome helping the kids through their different lessons, and being there for them because they may not have the best home life.

COMMUNITY SERVICE/VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES:

My sorority has a social service position that coordinates different events throughout the year. We volunteer at King’s Kettle food pantry and a nursing home in Shippensburg, and we do food and clothing drives, Relay for Life, Up Til' Dawn and more. It's been a great experience, and it made me more involved on campus. I also participate in an annual MS (Multiple Sclerosis) Walk because I know a couple of families touched by the disease, including my dad.
My volunteer work with both the young and the elderly has helped me to gain patience with people.

PLANS AFTER GRADUATION:

To find a great teaching job and move out on my own. I would love for a position in the urban parts of Harrisburg, because I think it would be a great experience. But I have a few years before graduation and a lot can change by then.
