Ready to Return to Ship?

Follow this checklist to ensure you are ready to return:

  1. Complete at least 9 credits at another post-secondary institution and receive a cumulative GPA of 2.2 or higher.
  2. Re-apply to Shippensburg University.
  3. Contact the ASP Transition Counselor.
  4. Once you have completed all of your courses, you must send an official transcript to the admissions office for review to determine if you will be accepted for readmission.

Now what...

  1. Before a decision can be made - Admissions will review your official transcript to determine if you will be accepted for readmission and if you will return as a declared or undeclared student.
  2. You will be notified by admissions of your official acceptance.
  3. Once you have received official acceptance for re-admisssion, you will be given additional information regarding your return; housing, financial aid, etc.
  4. Once the decision has been made, the Dean of Academic Programs and Services will be notified (if you return declared - it will be a different Dean) and we prepare a schedule for you.  You will not have to worry about registering for classes.

Remember, if you contact the Transition Counselor, they can work with admissions and the Dean's office to relay information to you a little quicker.

Once you return to Ship

Once you return to Ship, we will pick up with you where we left off.  You will still have the opportunity to participate in all of the resources offered by the Academic Success Program.  You will be assigned to the same ASP group counselor you had before you left campus.

If you are permitted to return as a declared student, you will be given an additional advisor in the academic area in which you have declared.
