Academic Internships

Students in the biotechnology concentration must complete either an internship or research to meet the requirements for their program, and non-thesis graduate students can choose to complete an internship as their capstone requirement. Undergraduate students in the other concentrations are not required to complete an internship, but they can still complete one for credit, and it may count as a biology elective. Internships are a great opportunity for all students to explore the field that they are interested and gain professional skills and experience. Internships can take place over the summer or during the school year. They can be full-time or part-time and paid or volunteer positions.

Shippensburg University's Career Center provides students with resources for finding a job or internship. The CMPDC also helps students with resumes, cover letters, applications, portfolios, and the interview process. Students can schedule a meeting with their academic advisor for help identifying internship opportunities that align with their career goals. 

Below are a few of the internship opportunities available to students. Many are well suited for students in a specific concentration, but students in any concentration may be interested.
