The John L. Grove College of Business has been awarded about $500,000 grant from the USAID/Iraq Development Project to enhance business programs in Iraqi universities, specifically the University of Baghdad, the oldest and the largest institution of higher education in Iraq; to conduct a feasibility study to establish a center of Banking and Finance to enhance private banking collaborations with Iraqi Universities; and to establish a program of Excellence in Teaching within the University of Baghdad. The team consists of John Kooti, Dean of the John L. Grove College of Business, Dr. Sarah Bryant, Professor of Finance, John L. Grove College of Business, and Dr. Melodye Wehrung, Executive Director of Social Equity, Shippensburg University has already traveled twice to Baghdad, once in January and the second time in April of 2012.
