Accounting - provides an opportunity for majors to explore career alternatives in their areas of study. Professionals from public accounting, private industry and nonprofit organizations meet with the club to share their experiences and to provide guidance. Club members share their academic and internship experiences, and field trips are scheduled.
Alpha Kappa Psi - is a coed Professional Business Fraternity; the oldest Professional Business Fraternity in the United States. AKPsi helps students enhance leadership skills and develop themselves as professionals. This organization provides the opportunity for its members to hold chair positions and gain valuable leadership and organizational experience, while providing great networking opportunities. Students who have participated in this Fraternity in the past have also been able to form close and lasting friendships. Alpha Kappa Psi participates in many service projects on campus and in the surrounding community. With their continued involvement in the College of Business, AKPsi has also been able to hold many professional events such as the Etiquette for Success Academy, Dean’s List Reception, Blue and Gold Banquet, and more.
APICS Student Affiliate Chapter- APICS is the educational society for resource management. APICS is an international organization offering certificate programs (CIRM and CPIM) and information on the latest business techniques. The APICS Student Affiliate Chapter is the student chapter of the Central Penn APICS chapter located in Harrisburg. Students may network with professionals in the field through professional development meetings and educational programs sponsored by the chapter groups. Central Penn APICS http://apics-cp.org
Association for Training and Development
Beta Gamma Sigma - An international honorary business society that encourages and rewards scholarship and accomplishment. Election to Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest scholastic honor that a student in business administration can attain.
Information Management & Analysis/Supply Chain Management - is an organization whose purposes is to prepare the students for the transition from classroom to careers in their chosen field. This goal is achieved through field trips to nearby industrial facilities and presentations made by practitioners who are invited to speak to club members.

International Business - formerly the International Commerce Club, is an organization open to all students, regardless of major. The IBA focuses on cross-cultural enrichment and international business dealings.
Investment - is an organization of students interested in careers in finance-related fields such as financial consultants, planners, real estate professionals, and positions at various financial institutions. Activities include speakers with outside professional backgrounds and trips tot he New York Stock Exchange, etc. The Investment Club also serves as an entree to the Ship Global Collegiate Fund.
Management Information Systems - M.I.S. professional association was formed to help majors expand their vision of Information Systems. Formed in the 2002-03 school year, professional presentations are scheduled to further the understanding of IT related fields. Field trips to IT departments of established firms are also scheduled. The goal is to keep the association strong in its early years, so future members can also enjoy the many benefits of this association.
Marketing Club - a local chapter of the American Marketing Association,
an organization whose goal it is to prepare the student for transition from the classroom to the business world. Students are given the opportunity to apply marketing ideas and concepts in planning, organizing, and executing club activities. The club offers its members the chance to hear marketing practitioners presentations about their firms and business experiences.

Phi Beta Lambda - The largest collegiate/student vocational association in America. Dedicated to service, education, and progress, PBL works to improve university-community relations through projects with the business community. Membership is open to all students.
Pi Omega Pi -The Business Education Honor Society
Society for Human Resource Management (SRHM) Student Affiliate Chapter - promotes the ideas and principles of human resource management. Speakers from businesses are invited to the meetings to discuss current trends and issues in human resources. Membership is open to all interested undergraduate students.
Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) - Meetings open to all. Tuesday & Thursday, 3:30 pm in Grove 205.
SIFE is a global, non-profit organization that is literally changing the world through highly dedicated student teams on more than 1600 university campuses in 40 countries. SIFE offers these students the opportunity to develop leadership, teamwork and communication skills through learning, practicing and teaching the principles of free enterprise, thereby improving the standard of living for millions in the process. Guided by distinguished faculty advisors and supported by businesses around the globe, SIFE Teams teach important concepts through educational outreach projects, including market economics, entrepreneurship, personal and financial success, and business ethics to better themselves, their communities and their countries. Each year, SIFE competitions are held worldwide, drawing together thousands of students and
business leaders to pay tribute to these extraordinary educational outreach projects.

Global Business Exploration Program (GBEP) (International Business Seminar)
MGT490 - This seminar strives to promote and facilitate international study abroad/internship opportunities for the John L. Grove College of Business students through an interactive and cooperative learning environment. Students enrolled in the class develop leadership, marketing, and management skills through active participation and management of all projects. Students make all decisions in the course with input from the faculty supervisor. The class is divided into functional subgroups that are responsible for areas such as research into study abroad/internship opportunities, marketing, public presentation, funding, scholarship research and external relations. Each student is responsible for facilitating group discussions and performing peer evaluations throughout the semester. Further information is available on the web site.
Prerequisites: Sophomore standing or higher with second language experience, international travel or study abroad experience desirable.

The Investment Management Program (IMP)
FIN434 - The Investment Management is a student-managed, finance elective in which real investment portfolios are analyzed by the class. The investments are held by the Shippensburg University Foundation, which accepts and implements the recommendations of the class. The class is conducted in a seminar format as led by the students. While there will be one professor designated as "professor of record" for administrative purposes, there are typically several professors present and available for consultation. When an additional academic skill is needed, professors from other areas can be (and are) invited to lend their help to the class. While the core responsibility of the class is to analyze the investments in a given portfolio, presentations before official groups associated with the university are required. In addition, interpersonal skills, especially in working in small groups, will be developed during the semester. Further information is available on the web site.
