Dr. Linwood G. Vereen joins the department of Counseling and College Student Personnel. This fall begins his 18th year as a counselor educator. Dr. Vereen is a longstanding member of the American Counseling Association. He currently engages in professional and scholarly work focused on humanism as a central tenet of professional counseling, existentialism, humor in counseling, group dynamics, and mindfulness within the small group experience. As an educator, Dr. Vereen has teaching experience in group work, clinical practicum and clinical internship, advanced diversity, and introduction to counseling to name a few. 

He has held various leadership positions with the field of Professional Counseling and Counselor Education including serving as the current secretary for the Association of Counselor Education and Supervision as well as the immediate past president of the Association for Humanistic Counseling. Dr. Vereen obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Nevada, Reno, in 2000 in Counseling and Educational Psychology.
