PLS490 Selected Topics: Global/European Political Economy and Security

PLS491 Selected Topics: The Evolution of European Government and Society 

Description: The course will be experiential where most of the learning will be done on site not sitting in a classroom. There will be an online component before departing on the trip. The course will include a survey of European history from the Roman Empire to the present, including an introduction to the various political systems and an overview of what to expect from an international experience. In addition, current trends and various cultures will be examined in order to understand the current context and the culture of places visited. Students will obtain a basic knowledge of Political Economy and the International Governmental Organizations crucial to trade and security. An emphasis will be placed on examining the many current controversies in these areas. Onsite lectures will also be given.

Tuition/Fees: 
Undergrad In-State Students (6 credits): $1514 ($669 tuition per course, $66 ed service fee per course, $44 tech fee once per semester)
Undergrad Maryland Students (6 credits): $3211 ($1506 tuition per course, $66 ed service fee per course, $67 tech fee once per semester)
Undergrad Out-of-State Students (6 credits): $3547 ($1674 tuition per course, $66 ed service fee per course, $67 tech fee once per semester)
Grad In-State Students (6 credits): $2360 ($1071 tuition per course, $87 ed service fee per course, $44 tech fee once per semester)
Grad Out-of-State Students (6 credits): $3673 ($1716 tuition per course, $87 ed service fee per course, $67 tech fee once per semester)

Tuition can be paid by cash, check payable to Shippensburg University or credit card.
This must be paid by the deadline or you will not be permitted to take the course.

Tuition Payment DEADLINE: April 24, 2009

Travel Costs: The additional travel costs for this trip are $3400. This amount includes lodging, bus transportation, field trips, entrance fees, activities, and some meals. These costs are non-refundable

DEADLINE DATES:

First Payment $200 Due at time of application.
Second Payment $1000 Due February 28, 2009
Final Payment $2200 Due May 24, 2009
