Information for Institute Faculty
If you have an idea, a course, or a workshop that you would like to offer to K-12 educators the Office of Extended Studies want to hear about it. We will work with you to a) determine K-12 educators’ need for a particular topic and the viability of such a course, b) build a course proposal and plan for its implementation, c) develop and execute a marketing strategy to fill the course, and d) provide various types of logistical support for the course (including sample syllabi, creative scheduling and delivery options, registration processes).
As a first step to your involvement in the Summer 2008 K-12 Educators Institute, we invite you to attend one of the following information/orientation sessions:
- Friday, Nov 9, 2:00-3:00 pm, Shippen Hall 224
- Tuesday, Nov 13, 3:30-4:30 pm, Library, 120 A&B
To participate in the institute, complete and submit the K-12 Educators Institute Course Proposal Template [PDF]. If you’re not sure where to start or what type of course to propose, consider the "starter ideas" that we've provided for you.
Please return the completed form to Carolyn Callaghan (cmcallaghan@ship.edu) in the Office of Extended Studies, Horton Hall 107, by Nov 30, 2007.
