Internships are important opportunities because they provide you with job experience (a must for your resume) and allow you to meet people working in your field. Internships that require persons with geotechnology-related education and skill sets are available in the private, non-profit, and public sectors. Contact Dr. George Pomeroy or Dr. Claire Jantz for more information about how to initiate and schedule an internship.
Below is a list of organizations that have hosted GIS-related internships for Shippensburg students; it is long and varied but not exhaustive. Also, the Student Conservation Association (SCA) offers several GIS-related internships and field jobs throughout the US.
