  3. The screen allows you to login with your user ID and password that was previously created. If you do not have a user ID and password you can use the link "Click here to Register".  If you have forgotten your password, use the "Click Here" link after "Forgot Password?".

  4. Enter your User ID.

  5. Enter your Password.

  6. Press the Login Button.

  7. If you need to register, you'll see the following screen:

  8. In the "User ID" field, enter a name that you will be able to remember, such as your email address.

  9. In the "Password" field, enter a password to go with your user name.

  10. In the "Verify Password" field, reenter your password

  11. Press Submit.

  12. If you forgot your password, you will see the following screen:

  13. Enter the user ID you used when registering.

  14. Enter your last name exactly as you did when registering.

  15. Enter your zip code as you did when registering.

  16. Press Submit.

  17. If you entered a user name and password that are accepted by the system, your browser will automatically be directed to the main menu. An example of the menu follows:

  18. The next step is to create an application. To do this, click on the red text link "GA Application". It will take you to the application page.

  19. The application page begins with a question about which semester your application is for. Choose the correct date and press the 'Change Yrsem' button.

  20. Fill in each section's questions. The SSN field is not required; however, supplying that information will allow your application to be processed more easily. International students may not have an SSN. If that is the case, leave the field blank.  If you were a previous student with an SU ID, you may also enter that.

  21. In Section1, all fields with a red asterisk are required.

  22. Section 2 requests information about your academic information. Please fill in any test results that you have. One of the most important questions in section 2 is when you intend to start taking classes. Graduate students can apply for a semester but not actually take any classes until a later one. You cannot hold an assistantship if you are not taking classes.

  23. Section 3 requests your past college information.

  24. Section 4 requests information regarding any relevant work experience that you have.

  25. Section 5 requests information regarding any special skills that may help you in a particular position.

  26. Section 6 requests any references that you want to provide.

  27. Press the "Submit" button to send your application.

  28. Your application will be processed and stored on the system. Your processed application will then be displayed to you in the same format that it will be visible to the administrators who hire GA's.

  29. You can edit your application by clicking on the 'GA Application' link again. Your application will appear with your previous entries in the appropriate fields.

  30. Clicking the "Find Positions" link will allow you to search and apply for position positions. You may choose to restrict display to certain types of positions or only open positions.

  31. If you click on the title of a position, a window with additional information about that position, such as the contact information for the positions supervisor, will appear.

  32. When you browse positions, there will be an 'Apply' link next to each position. Click on apply if you would like to apply for the position.

  33. When you apply for a position, the appropriate supervisor will be notified. Applying for a position is not a guarantee that you will be reviewed interviewed or selected for a position.  The Graduate Dean recommends that students follow-up by calling or emailing supervisors.
