Dear New Graduate Student:
Congratulations on your admission and confirmation to graduate study at Shippensburg University. We welcome you to the university community and wish you well in your educational pursuit.
As further introduction to the university and to its academic and student life opportunities, we invite you to attend Graduate Student Orientation on Sunday, January 11, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. in Grove Hall Forum.
Graduate Student Orientation is a chance for you to meet and dialogue with faculty and other Ship graduate students. We will cover important information, talk about our expectations, and have a panel discussion on tips for your success in graduate studies. Information will be available from various services on campus such as University Police, the Registrar's Office, and Lehman Library. Faculty members from various academic departments will also be in attendance. Light refreshments will be served. Several laptop computers will be available to use in learning more about the Student Information System. The Graduate Student Association Board will highlight their activities. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and converse with the fellow students and university representatives in attendance.
All new, incoming graduate students in attendance will be entered into a raffle to win a $50 gift card from the University Bookstore or an SU parking decal.
In addition, from 1:30 to 2:00, newly-appointed graduate assistants will have an opportunity to talk with representatives from Human Resources and to complete payroll forms.
For this event only, graduate students may park in the faculty/staff lot beside the Luhrs Performing Arts Center. A campus parking map is located here.
