Shippensburg University LMS Migration:
 Blackboard to Desire2Learn

 PASSHE LMS Transition

For Weekly Transition Updates click on "Migration Information" on the navigation.

Following a competitive bid process and evaluations by a committee comprised of faculty, staff and students from each of the 14 campuses, PASSHE has awarded a system wide contract to Desire2Learn (Leaning Management system), Learning Edge (Content Management) and Perceptis (LMS Help Desk). These service providers have been notified of the intent to award. SHIP will be working closely with PASSHE and the vendors on the migration and transition of the content from the current service provider/system Blackboard. Blackboard is currently hosted by PASSHE and will be supported until the migration process is complete. The Blackboard system will no longer be available as of the first or second week of June 2010. All Bb content must be archived or downloaded prior to that date. Support is available for faculty by contacting IDDS or following the preparing for course deletion instructions on the IDDS website.

IDDS staff will be working with SHIP faculty during Spring 2010 and summer 2010 on a plan to migration content to the new system Desire2Learn. A schedule of learning/training sessions and documentation will be developed and in place for all faculty, staff and students. System tools will be available for the migration. We will work closely with Desire2Learn to ensure a smooth migration process between the two systems. Detailed tool kits will be available in the next few weeks for each university to use and share with faculty including demos, timelines for implementation and training. Desire2Learn will visit each of the campuses to provide information and answer any questions (schedule will be announced shortly).

In the meantime IDDS staff, Shelley Gross-Gray and Donna Panzo, are available to answer any related questions. Please contact us by e-mail at idds@ship.edu.
