Managing Files Area

Desire2Learn provides a central location for managing your course files called the File Management Console.  The Manage Files area is used to organize the files that make up your course content.  Navigation in this area is similar to Windows Explorer-- users may create folders, upload files, delete files, and change file location.

This Tutorial covers the following topics:

 Accessing the File Management Console

The File Management console uses frames.  The left frame consists of a folder hierarchy with plus (+) signs indicating that the folder contains subfolders.

Instructors can access the File Management Console in two ways:

  1. Click on the button on the left-hand side of the Content area. This opens the Course Admin Tools pane.
  2. Click on the Edit Course link in the red Navigation bar and choosing the Manage File link. This opens the File Management console.
