Sophos Antivirus Installation - Recommended Antivirus

As a service to the University community the Shippensburg Student Help Desk provides a recommendation of an antivirus product to help faculty, staff, and students stay protected during their online browsing on their personal machines. Sophos Antivirus is an excellent suite of antivirus software. The Student Help Desk recommendation of this software verses other industry leaseders is based on personal testing results against known malware as well as numerous independent company reviews of this software. The software has proven multiple times to be highly effective at proactively preventing machines from virus infection.
Sophos has been providing enterprise-level information technology security for 20 years. Sophos Antivirus has performed well in many reviews administered by non-biased third party testing agencies. Individual testing within the Shippensburg University CTC was also performed and Sophos outperformed our previous solution in all categories. Therefore, we are excited to offer the Sophos Antivirus software available free of charge to our students, staff, and faculty for personal and home use.
Avira Free Antivirus Installation - Alternative Antivirus
There are a few free antivirus software products to choose from today including Avira, AVG and Avast. All of these products provide a level of protection against viruses and other malware. Through our own testing as well as numerous independent agency tests, Avira emerged as the best proactive detection agent of these three products. Please visit the page below for more information.
