Eligibility and Requirements
To participate in a study abroad program, you must meet the following requirements:
- Complete 30 credits of course work at Shippensburg University*
- Maintain a GPA of 2.5
- Demonstrate good academic and judicial standing
Studying abroad can be appropriate in your sophomore year. Planning early makes the process easier. Freshmen are welcome to attend a Study Abroad 101 session as early as their first semester at Ship.
Think about signing up for the interdisciplinary International Studies Major/Minor. The world is open to Ship graduates who minor in International Studies and study abroad. Find out more about the International Studies program at: www.ship.edu/academic/artint.html or by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org.
No matter what major you choose, you should begin planning your study abroad experience one year in advance. Some programs do not allow students to study abroad until their sophomore year so planning early is necessary.
* Transfer students are advised on an individual basis. Contact us if you are considering Ship and want to study abroad.
