- National Criminal Justice Reference Service (NCJRS)
- After identifying appropriate articles, use the Journal Title List to see if the library has access to the journal & article
- Copy down the article citation from NCJRS
- Search the Journal Title List for the Journal Title
- Criminal Justice Abstracts
- Click the "Check Availability" link to see if the library has access to the article
- If the result screen shows an "Article" link, it should take you straight to the article
- If the result screen shows a "Journal" link (and not an "Article" link), browse to the year/issue of the article if available & browse for the article
- If the result screen shows only a database name (and not an "Article" or a "Journal" link), search for the title of your article in that database
- If the result screen says "Ship Library does not have access to this article" you can use the "ILLiad" link near the bottom of the screen to request the article from another library -- this averages about 3 business days before the article arrives, but can take up to 10 days

- Broad interdisciplinary subject coverage, use "criminal justice" as one facet of your search
- LexisNexis Academic
- Broad legal and current news coverage
- If you need law reviews:
- In the blue left menu: click on "US Legal"
- Then click on "Law Reviews"
- In the top search box type in your main search topic, e.g. "right to counsel"
- In the next search box type in a limiting concept, e.g. "juvenile"
- If you get over 3000 hits, just click the "Retrieve" button
