Recent projects and activities
My research interests are in commutative algebra. Recently I
have been looking into characterizing properties of rings associated to
a one-dimensional analytically irreducible local domains using the
value semigroup. I was a fellow for the NSF GK-12 program from 2005-2006. As a
visiting scientist at a local middle school, I designed and taught
inquiry-based lessons along with math and science teachers.
Recent papers and talks
- Presented the talk, "Numerical Semigroups and One-Dimensional Rings," for the Commutative Algebra & Algebraic Geometry Seminar at CUNY's New York City College of Technology.
- Presented the talk, "Sums of Squares and Unique Factorization: An Automathographical Tale," for the Mathematics Department Colloquium at Gettysburg College.
- Published "Goto Numbers of a Numerical Semigroup Ring and the Gorensteiness of Associated Graded Rings," in the journal, Communications in Algebra, Volume 38, Issue 6 June 2010.
