Community Orchestra

The Shippensburg University-Community Orchestra comprises university students, faculty and staff members, community members, advanced high school students, and professional musicians. It features carefully selected professional principal string players who mentor and instruct others within their sections. This stimulating learning and performing environment enables the orchestra to play challenging works.

Each semester's schedule includes ten two-hour rehearsals that culmniate in a full length concert of masterpieces from all eras. Most events feature performances by guest artists.

Members are admitted into the Shippensburg Universtiy-Community Orchestra through open auditions held the first week oif each semester. S.U. students may earn academic credit for participation in the ensemble.
