 Fall Concert

Timeless Classics

The Shippensburg University-Community Orchestra will perform classic pieces from Debussy’s delightful Petit Suite to Haydn’s Symphony 101, known as “The Clock,” to one of the great crowd pleasers of the orchestra repertoire, Tchaikovsky’s violin concerto.  Guest soloist for the concerto will be Canadian violinist Sarah Pratt. Sarah was a winner of the Jeunesses Musicales International Violin competition and the Canadian National Music Competition and has performed widely with groups such as the New York Philharmonic, the Toronto Symphony, and the New York City Opera and has soloed with the Toronto Symphony and the National Arts Center Orchestra.

 Spring Concert

Tango comes to Ship!

The Shippensburg University-Community Orchestra will welcome bandoneónist Héctor Del Curto to the Luhrs Center stage.  Héctor has performed and recorded with world-renowned tango legend Astor Piazzolla and moves comfortably between the musical worlds of tango, jazz, and classical musical styles. He will perform Piazzolla’s now classic concerto for bandoneón and orchestra.
