Various programs set to start November
From music to Shakespeare, various events are scheduled at Shippensburg University to start off November. The events, open to the public, include:

- Nov. 3: Dibert Planetarium Fall Children's Show, 7:30 p.m., Franklin Science Center. More than 50 years ago, Martha Evans Martin wrote the book Our Friendly Stars and this program will explore the unchanging stellar patterns that make for a lasting hobby that children of all ages can enjoy for a lifetime. Shows start promptly and reservations are encouraged. Please send e-mail (preferred) to papajack@planetcable.net or call 532-2248 for information and reservations. Tickets are $1 and half-price for children.
- Nov. 8: Woodwind Ensembles, 3 p.m., Old Main Chapel. Various configurations of the ever-popular woodwind instruments are featured. Admission is free. For information, call 477-1638.
- Nov. 10: American Shakespeare Center presents The Knight of the Burning Pestle, 8 p.m., Memorial Auditorium. Imagine Homer and Marge Simpson buying tickets to a Chekhov play and then climbing on stage to redirect the show with Bart as the star. This gives some idea as to the fun Shakespeares contemporary, Francis Beaumont, unleashes in The Knight of the Burning Pestle. Loaded with laughter and song, the play is a celebration of the way Elizabethan audiences expected to be part of the action. Please call 477-1747 or 477-1693 or send e-mail apb@ship.edu for information. Tickets are available at the Ceddia Union Building information desk and are $10, $8 or $5 with SU students free with student ID.
