University to host donation event May 3

Shippensburg University will host a rummage sale at which donations will also be accepted for three community organizations.

The event is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 3 in the multipurpose room of the Ceddia Union Building.

University students, faculty, staff, and organizations will sell lightly used books, CDs, DVDs, clothing, decorations, appliances, collectible items, handmade crafts, jewelry, original artwork and other items.

Three community organizations will be there accepting donations. They are:

  • King's Kettle Food Pantry will be accepting: Spaghetti/pasta & sauces, peanut butter & jelly, canned soup, crackers, pancake mix & syrup, instant oatmeal, canned fruit, cereal/snack bars
  • Hawthorne Acres Sanctuary will be accepting: Paper towels, trash bags, IAMS canned food, cat toys, catnip, blankets and flannel sheets, towels, pet carriers, cleaning supplies, pet stain and odor remover, cedar, Feline Pine or Swheat litter, automatic feeders and waterers, dovered litter boxes, plastic bins (with lids) and fitted vinyl mattress covers
  • Women In Need will also participate and their needed items will be announced later.

This event is sponsored by the Women's Consortium and the Volunteer Service Office.
