- Dr. Karin J. Bohleke, director of the SU Fashion Archives
and Museum, recently reviewed an article on the evolution of the tutu and the
eroticization of the ballerina’s costume for the peer-reviewed journal Dress: The Journal of the Costume Society of America.
- Dr. Joseph Catanio, associate professor of management
information systems, Dr. Joanne Tucker, associate professor of supply chain
management, and Dr. Gary Armstrong, professor of management information
systems, presented their paper “Project Management Certification: Does It
Matter” at the National Academy of Business Disciplines Conference recently in
Ft. Myers Beach, Fla.
- Dr. Philip Henry, University Counseling Center director and
chair of the Department of Counseling Services, was appointed by the Governing
Board of the Association of University and College Counseling Center Directors
to serve on the Membership Equity Task Force charged with examining the needs
of non-psychologist center directors within AUCCCD and making recommendations
to enhance understanding of how unique professional perspectives contribute to
student success.
- Dr. Ian M. Langella, associate professor of supply chain
management, recently completed reviewing an article on closed loop supply chain
management for the peer-reviewed International
Journal of Sustainable Engineering.
- Dr. José
Ricardo-Osorio, chair of the modern languages department, was invited by
Universidad Popular del Cesar-UPC in Columbia to facilitate a two-day workshop
on student learning assessment and institutional quality Feb. 2-3. He also
co-chaired the Modern Languages Program Articulation Task Force for the State
of Pennsylvania. The articulation agreement was recently approved by the
participating institutions and by PASSHE/PDE.
- Dr. Robert
Shaffer, professor of history, had his article “J.J. Singh and the India League
of America, 1945-1959: Pressing at the Margins of the Cold War Consensus”
published in the Winter 2012 issue of the Journal of American
Ethnic History. He also had an essay “Public Employee Unionism: A Neglected Social
Movement of the 1960s” published in The History Teacher. In addition, he has
recently had book reviews published in the Pacific Historical
Review,
the Journal of World History, Peace & Change, and The
History Teacher.
