Musical programs set at Shippensburg University

Four musical events are part of the events scheduled for Shippensburg University in November. The programs, all free and open to the public, are: 

  •  Nov. 4: Concert by the Woodwind Ensemble, 3 p.m., Old Main Chapel.
  •  Nov. 8: Chapel Series featuring The Guidonian Hand performing Transcendent Sonorities,” 7:30 p.m., Old Main Chapel. The Guidonian Hand is New York City’s leading modern trombone collective. The Hand has performed extensively in the New York metropolitan area at such venues as the LincolnCenter Chamber Music Society, The Juilliard School and the Tribeca New Music Festival.   
  •  Nov. 11: Concert by the Brass Ensemble and Women’s Chorale, 3 p.m., Old Main Chapel.  
  •  Nov. 18: Shippensburg University-Community Orchestra Fall Concert featuring violinist Elizabeth Field and cellist Stephanie Vial, co-directors of the critically acclaimed ensemble, The Vivaldi Project and conducted by Dr. Mark L. Hartman, assistant professor of music and director of the orchestra.
