University to host alumnus talk on leadership Nov. 14
Kevin A. Shwedo,
a Shippensburg University alumnus, will give a presentation on “transitioning
from the academic world to the real world” at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 14 in Grove Hall
Forum.
The program,
free and open to the public, is sponsored by the John L. Grove College of
Business.
Shwedo is
executive director of the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles. He was
appointed to this position on the Governor’s Cabinet
by Gov. Nikki Haley in January, 2011.
Prior to his appointment, Shwedo, a
colonel in the Army, was deputy commanding officer of the U.S. Army Training Center
at Fort Jackson. He retired from the January 2011 with 32 years of service. Shwedo
has a bachelor of science degree in business from the University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Shippensburg in 1999.
