University selected as a top veteran-friendly school

U.S. Veterans Magazine has selected Shippensburg University as one of its 2013 Top Veteran-Friendly Schools.

According to a release from the magazine, “The annual review is an evaluation of the nation's employers, initiatives, government agencies and educational institutions. These non-biased studies are valuable resources for job seekers, business owners, students, consumers, senior management, business associations, employment agencies and consumer groups.”

“Our veterans have served our nation with honor and distinction, and Shippensburg University provides a variety of educational and related opportunities to support these brave men and women,” said Dr. Jody Harpster, interim president. “At Ship, we have looked at ways to better deliver our academic programming to veterans, we continue to review our support services for them and we have a veterans resource center in our student union. Ship will continue to do what it can to help the veterans to whom we owe so much.”

Shippensburg is one of 110 universities, colleges and other educational facilities selected this year.
