University gallery plans series of exhibits

A variety of exhibits will be featured in Kauffman Gallery in Huber Art Center at Shippensburg University.

The current exhibit in the gallery, "Half and Half: Fine Art Digital Prints," continues to Feb 6. The exhibit displays  select digital fine art prints produced by SU graphic design students and Professor William Whiteley. The exhibit, half in color and half in black and white, depicts various subjects and locales.

Other exhibits this semester are:

  • "Best of the Best; PA Art Educators," Feb. 15 to March 6. The opening Reception is 1 p.m. Feb. 15 with awards presented in the gallery at 1:30 p.m. Open to all K-12 art teachers teaching in Pennsylvania, this exhibit and the award winners were selected by William Waite, William Waite Studio and Gallery, Jamestown, N.Y. A variety of content and media will be represented in this exhibition.
  • "SU Student Art Exhibition," March 30 to April 15. The opening reception is 1 p.m. March 30 with awards presented in the gallery at 1:30 p.m. This exhibit will feature a variety of visual art media produced by art & design students. Presented each spring semester, judges select the finest entries in a variety of categories to receive cash awards.
  • "Senior Exhibition I," April 21 to April 26. The closing reception is 1 p.m. April 26 with awards presented at 1:30 p.m. Senior art majors will present their work in a variety of media selected by the art and design faculty.
  • "Senior Exhibition II," May 5 to May 10. The closing reception is 1 p.m. May 10 with awards presented at 1:30 p.m.

Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays and other hours by appointment. For more information send e-mail to or call the department at 477-1530.
