Student-led event to raise funds for area foundation

The Activities Program Board at Shippensburg University is hosting RaiderFest 2014 April 26 on campus to benefit the Drew Michael Taylor Foundation.

The program is open to the public and will feature activities from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the parking lot across from the H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center.

Proceeds from the event will go to the Drew Michael Taylor Foundation, a public non-profit organization that serves the Shippensburg, Chambersburg and Greencastle areas, and provides educational opportunities and grief and loss support programs for children, teens and their families.  

Punch cards can be purchased to participate in the many games and activities. Prices are $3 for SU students with ID,  $3 for non-SU students with ID and for children, and $5 for the public.    Activities include carnival games, photos with Ship’s mascot Big Red, sand art, spin art Frisbees, face painting, glitter tattoos and the national guard rock wall.

Lunch will be provided in the outdoor hockey rink from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The meal is free for SU students with ID and a meal plan, and is $8 for the public, $4 for children 10 and under, and free for children 2 and under.
