Elementary students to learn about solar cooking

Students in the Grace B. Luhrs University Elementary School at Shippensburg University will learn about solar cooking at a demonstration from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday (June 6).
The program, on the school’s playground, is being conducted by SU Dining Services and was coordinated by Konnie Serr, assistant professor of teacher education and first-grade teacher in the school.
Students will see a demonstration that will include showing the intense power of the sun’s rays followed by the chance to sample solar-cooked treats including hot dogs, S’mores and other child-friendly foods.
