Physician General to
discuss LGBTQ+ health issues
Pennsylvania Physician General Dr. Rachel Levine will speak at SU on
March 27 at 5 p.m. in Old Main chapel.
Levine will discuss her personal and professional inspiration in her
journey toward becoming physician general, her impact on Pennsylvania’s LGBTQ+
community and her thoughts on health and wellness issues specifically affecting
the LGBTQ+ community.
A professor of pediatrics and psychiatry at the Penn State
Medicine, Levine graduated from Harvard College in 1979
and the Tulane
University School of Medicine in 1983. She is the liaison
for the LGBT
community for the Office of Diversity at the Penn State
College of Medicine. In
this role, she has established a LGBT faculty and staff affinity group and is
the facilitator for the LGBT student group.
The program, sponsored by LGBTQ+ Concerns Committee and the Gerontology
