Ship’s ‘Diggin’ History!’ series returns

GumArticle3Ship’s History and Philosophy Department will kick off its 2017-2018 “Diggin’ History!” series on Sept. 19 with a talk by Tyler Gum ‘11M, director of the Pennsylvania Military museum. The program will begin at 7 p.m. in Dauphin Humanities Center 151.

Gum’s lecture, “Honor, Service, Legacy – The Pennsylvania Military Museum,” will highlight his experiences in the field of public history, and his work at the Pennsylvania Military Museum helping to find new and innovative ways to connect the public to Pennsylvania’s rich and interesting military history.

Prior to his appointment at the Pennsylvania Military Museum, Gum worked for the National Park Service and was involved with corporate relations and legislative affairs. He also served as a lecturer in the History Department at Penn State Altoona.

The History and Philosophy Department and the Shippensburg University History Club sponsor this free and public event.
