A $10 per credit off campus support fee is charged for courses taken at specific off campus locations.

Undergraduate Room & Board 

* Term III room and food service rates are less because the term is 3 weeks. Terms IV and V are 5 weeks. The per week rate for each summer term is the same. If housing dates do not fall within the 3 or 5 week period, housing and meals will be billed per week.  

To determine the total housing and meal cost for a summer term add your housing cost plus your meal plan cost for the applicable term. Example 1: Term III total cost for Traditional Halls and the 15 meal plan is $393 plus $264 or $657. Example 2: Term V total cost for Traditional Halls and the 10 meal plan is $655 plus $340 or $955.  

The Admiral Meal Plan is not available during the summer terms and the  10 Meal Plan can be purchased by both on campus and off campus students. Also, suite housing is not available to students during the summer terms.

Refund Policy for Dropped Courses

Students are not charged for any courses dropped during the "drop period" at the start of each term or part of term. After the last date of the drop period, NO REFUNDS will be given for any dropped or withdrawn courses. Charges will not be reduced.

• Term III (Full Term) – last day to drop for 100% refund - 5/13
• Term IV (Full Term) – last day to drop for 100% refund – 6/4
• Term V (Full Term) – last day to drop for 100% refund – 7/9

These dates may not apply to Extended Studies courses or courses that do not begin on the first scheduled date of each summer term.

Refund Policy for Summer Term Withdrawals

To completely withdraw from a Summer Term, you must complete a Shippensburg University Withdraw Request Form at http://www.ship.edu/PCDE/Withdrawal_Request_Form/.  Please follow the directions at the top of the form.

Technology tuition fee, advance deposits, orientation fee, common damage fee, field placement fee and off campus support fees are non-refundable.

Refund Policy for Summer 2013 Term III, IV and V Courses in Varying Parts of Term

(does NOT apply to course withdrawals, only full term withdrawals i.e. this only pertains to withdrawals from all courses in the applicable term) 

Term III

Early or late starting courses which begin and end on the following dates of Term III will be refunded based upon the portion of the enrollment period completed at the time of withdrawal. 

Note: Some courses may not begin and end on these exact dates, but all courses will be included in one of the above parts of term and will follow the refund dates that correspond to that particular part of term.

Term IV

Early or late starting courses which begin and end on the following dates of Term IV will be refunded based upon the portion of the enrollment period completed at the time of withdrawal.

Term V 

Early or late starting courses which begin and end on the following dates of Term V will be refunded based upon the portion of the enrollment period completed at the time of withdrawal.

Summer Billing/Due Dates

Following are the billing and payment due dates for each of the summer terms.

Student Accounts reserves the right to bill at the correct rate, according to the policies of the Board of Governors of the State System of Higher Education.  

1. Online courses are those courses run through the University's Distance Education program. For information, see PCDE -Online
