Augmentation of Computer Lab for Psychology: FSC122 

The addition of 9 additional workstations provides more students with access to computers in this lab.

Outdoor Audio Recording devices for Biology: FSC 

Equipment provides the department with the means to document and record audio data in a natural habitat. In addition, a solar panel kit allows the equipment to run for extended periods of time without human intervention.

Video Conference Codec for Media Services: GRH006 

Provides the Media Services videoconference room with an updated codec system installed by a third-party vendor. Also includes a 4-year maintenance contract for the installed equipment.

SMARTBoard for English: DHC004 

Provides the current Smart Classroom with a SMARTBoard touch system, which allows faculty and students an interactive display to enhance the learning environment.

Smart Classroom for Business: GRH206 

Smart technology installed in the classroom for visual and audio presentation enhancement for classroom use by students in the Physics Department.  Includes the ability to tie DVD, Internet, and Computer audio/visual aids together into one management console for presentation of course materials. System includes the presentation unit, a computer, data projector, document camera, DVD/VCR and supporting switching equipment. 

Augmentation of Computer Lab for Accessibility Resources: ELL136  

The replacement of 4 workstations and updating of software, plus the addition of a scanner. This lab allows Accessibility Resources to provide students access to technology equipment that utilizes tutoring assistance software/hardware.

High Production Color printers for Art: HAC104 

Provides an Art department lab with high quality color printers that enhance the students’ graphic design portfolios.

Glazing/Claybody software for Art: HAC107 

This software allows artists to keep track of glaze recipes, clay and materials, and search the compiled database to determine which glazes will meet the needs of their current project, or calculate a batch recipe from a unity molecular formula.

Augmentation of Computer Lab for Biology: FSC216 

The replacement of 12 workstations plus the addition of 12 more workstations, 1 printer and the updating of software. This lab allows Biology majors access to computers within their department building.

Personal Response Systems for various departments 

These clickers provide students with access to Personal Response Systems that allow for interaction by students in the classroom setting.  Students are able to respond to questions asked by use of hand held “clickers” that provide an answer to the question and keep track of responses.  

Mediasite recorders for Media Services: GRH006 

Replaces the current Mediasite hardware with a newer version. The systems provide recordings of videoconference classes that can be accessed by students for later review. Also provides live streaming (via a web browser) capabilities that can be utilized for University events such as graduations.

New York Times archive for Lehman Library: ELL 

Allow for students and faculty to access the entire archives of the New York Times. Gives the user an additional research resource opportunity.

Digital Signage for Microlabs 

Provides a way to get students important updates in the general labs across campus.  Reducing the need for paper signage, and the issues of outdated information. 

Camcorders and Light Kits for Comm Journ: RLH206 

Allow for students to record video footage in varying levels of light.  Provides hands on experience with equipment, allowing for development of technique and familiarization with equipment and terminology important in this discipline.

JSTOR Collections for Lehman Library: ELL 

Adds additional collections of JSTOR, which provides students access to secondary resources for research papers. These collections cover mainly social sciences, humanities, and arts.

Provides the current Smart Classroom with a SMARTBoard touch system, which allows faculty and students an interactive display to enhance the learning environment.

Webcams, microphones and flipcams for Global Languages: RLH103 

Facilitates student's conversations, interviews and creative projects in target languages fostering more realistic, creative and substantive use of the language.

Large Format Printer for Geography & Earth Sciences: SRH005A 

Allows for the printing of large format maps and topological maps, adapting to the new hardware and software available in the computer labs.

Surfer 10 Software for Geography & Earth Sciences: SRH001 

This software is a contouring and 3D surface mapping program that allows students to quickly and easily convert data into outstanding contour, surface, wireframe, vector, image, shaded relief, and post maps.

Compix Graphics System for Communications/Journalism and Broadcasting: RLH 

Upgrades and updates the University TV Studio graphics system. The module is tied into the EZNews content management system and includes a replacement graphics monitor. The upgrades allow students to utilize their graphic design skills to be tied into their video productions.

Biodex System2 for Exercise Science:  HG105 

Provides the department with a state-of-the-art isokinetic machine. The system allows students and faculty to conduct detailed analysis of movement strength at various points of the human body. Use of this system expands the students’ experiences in their major.

Heart Rate Monitors and Transmitters for Exercise Science: HG016 

Allow a subjects heart rate to be collected every second during physical activity after which the heart rate data is then downloaded and recorded on the computer for further analysis.

Provides an Instructor station and data projection system for the computer lab to enhance the teaching environment.

Renewal of Smart Classroom for Teacher Education: FSC102 

Smart technology installed in the classroom for visual and audio presentation enhancement for classroom use by students in the Teacher Education Department.  Includes the ability to tie DVD, Internet, and Computer audio/visual aids together into one management console for presentation of course materials. System includes the presentation unit, a computer, data projector, document camera, DVD/VCR and supporting switching equipment.

Teaching Labs for Geography: SRH001 

A computer lab of 21 lab computers used to expand teaching capabilities and improve the classroom learning experience.  These machines are used for a variety of specialized computer programs that enhance student-learning outcomes.

A computer lab of 21 lab computers used to expand teaching capabilities and improve the classroom learning experience.  These machines are used for a variety of specialized computer programs that enhance student-learning outcomes. 

 

GPS software/hardware for Geography: SRH005 

Provides students with access to Trimble GeoXM GPS receivers.  These receivers are used in mapping, and GIS classes.  Hardware helps develop skills needed for the ever-increasing demand for Internet mapping services and GPS skill levels. Allows for a complete system wide storage solution for students that will ease the operation of the lab, and have a central storage solution for maps and GPS data.

 

Instructional Classroom/Computer Lab for Lehman Library: ELL112 

This classroom/computer lab consists of 37 computers and a projector and allows for use of library instruction and collaborated instructional programs for students.  It also provides student access to library resources, and enables them to incorporate discovered data and research into papers, reports and presentations.

 

ARES Electronic Reserves for Lehman Library 

Provides automated student access to the library reserve system.  Available both on and off campus, this system can alert students via email or RSS feeds as new material becomes available for classes.

 

Augmentation of Lab for Communications/Journalism: RLH206 

A computer lab consisting of 27 iMacs in the Roland Hall Macintosh lab facility.  This allows for larger instruction groups in the classes using the technology. The addition of Adobe CS suite, the standard design suite in the industry, helps students with their learning outcomes.

 

Camcorders for College of Education: SPH214 

Provides camcorders for student teachers to enhance the communication and interaction between students, mentors, and their college supervisor.  This assists in facilitating better/faster and more frequent communication and sharing of methodologies between students.  Original project was for 25 Web Cameras, on renewal was changed to camcorders.

 

Large Format Printer for Art: HAC314  

Enables students to participate in the printing of documents/projects, accurately producing images in their full-intended size up to 36” in width.  This printer also allows for archival printing, which allows for prints to maintain their original colors for up to 108 years.

 

ACM Digital Library for Lehman Library and Computer Science 

Provides student access to the preeminent resource for journal articles, conference proceedings and technical reports in the fields of Computer Science and Information Systems.

 

Student Presentation Stations for various departments: SPH, FSC, MCT 

Smart technology in the classrooms for visual and audio presentation enhancement for classroom use by students across all the Colleges at the University.   

 

 Upgrade of Smart Classroom for Business: GRH406 

Provides updated Audio/Video and other equipment required by the Smart Cart for enhancement of the Smart Classroom for the Business department.

 

 Upgrade of Smart Classrooms for Business: GRH202 

Provides updated Audio/Video and other equipment required by the Smart Cart for enhancement of the Smart Classroom for the Business department.

 

Upgrade of Smart Classrooms for Business: GRH201 

Provides updated Audio/Video and other equipment required by the Smart Cart for enhancement of the Smart Classroom for the Business department.

 

Renewal of IDDS Computer Lab: ELL012 

These 6 workstations allow students to work closely with Instructional Design and Development Services staff to learn about developing websites, how to use various Adobe products, and interacting with various hardware platforms.
