Welcome to the NEW Ship web site
The Web Content Advisory Committee and Web Technical Services have been collaborating to deliver a new and improved Shippensburg University web site. You are now looking at the first stage of our redesign effort.
Our Goals:
- Support a strong, consistent brand throughout the site
- Include Ship stories and related images on the home page and in many other areas of the site
- Implement a Content Management System (CMS) to provide an easy to use interface for the maintaining of web content
- Facilitate easier CMS content sharing and data consistency
- Improve accessibility through compliant code
- Create simple, consistent, clear navigation
- Move to a wider screen format
- Offer more targeted search choices
- Adapt the University Graphics Standards to comparable web-friendly fonts and colors
- Create a Ship photo library to be used by content creators
We have completed most of this first phase. All of the content of the main ship.edu site has been moved to the content management system. University design elements have been put in place. Image libraries and stylesheets have been created.

What's next?
We will continue to evaluate and improve the ship.edu pages. By advising and training individual content providers, we will transition the creation and editing of content to the departments responsible for the information.
We will also be working with individual departments (webspace.ship.edu sites) to redesign and move their sites over to the CMS.
