The Vagina Monologues
The award winning epidsodic play, The Vagina Monologues, by Eve Ensler has been sponsored on campus by the Women's Center since 2004.
V-Day is a global activist movement and an organized response to end violence against women and girls. V-Day generates broader attention for the fight to stop violence against women and girls, including rape, battery, incest and sex slavery. 90% of the proceeds from this benefit go to charity, the remaining 10% is used to support production costs. By raising money and consciousness, it will unify and strengthen existing anti-violence efforts. Triggering far-reaching awareness, it will lay the ground work for new educational, protective, and legislative endeavors throughout the world. For more information on V-day visit: www.vday.org
Through V-Day campaigns, local volunteers, and college students we are able to produce annual benefit performances of The Vagina Monologues. If you are interested in being a part of this check back with us toward the middle of the fall semester. You can call at 477.1790 or stop in the Women's Center Mon-Fri from 8-4:30 or visit the website, which will show you dates for tryout once announced.
