How do I know if my credits have been transferred from my previous college(s)?

Check your academic record on the Student Information System. If the courses do not appear there, contact your dean’s office to verify that your transcript from the previous college was received.

How do I transfer credits to another college?

Have your official Shippensburg transcript sent to the new college.  You may print the transcript request form at www.ship.edu/admin/registrar/forms.html.

How do my parents verify my enrollment?

The student may print an enrollment verification certificate by logging into the Student Information System, click on Registrar then Enrollment Verification.  Follow the instructions to link to the National Student Clearing House where you can print your verification.

How do I request official transcript(s); is there a fee?

Print the transcript request form from the Registrar's page at www.ship.edu/admin/registrar/transcripts.html.   A limit of 3 copies will be mailed to the same address at no charge; there will be a $3 fee for each additional copy. 

I tried to drop a class during schedule adjustment, but it still appears on my schedule AND/OR I received a bill for it, AND/OR I received an "F" grade for it.  How do I resolve this issue?

I received a letter for nonpayment. How do I have my classes reinstated?

After you take care of your bill in the Student Accounts Office, you will receive a receipt to bring to the Registrar's Office, where your classes may be reinstated.

I scheduled online, but the professor does not have me on their class list. How do I get this class on my schedule?

If the professor allows you to remain in class, he/she should update the class list electronically or e-mail your name and SU ID number, along with the course number, to the Registrar’s Office.

Why did my roommate get early warning grades and I did not?

Only students with 30 credits or less, students on academic probation, athletes, or students with special circumstances receive early warning grades.  You may visit our Frequently Asked Questions page at www.ship.edu/admin/registrar/earlyWarn.html to learn more about the early warning system.

What do the early warning grade codes mean?

PA = Passing; NB = No Basis for grade; D = D; F = F; X = Grade not submitted

How do I get a letter for enrollment verification?

Undergraduate students can go to your major department or Dean's Office. 

How do I schedule classes?

Go to info.ship.edu and click on Student Information System using your User ID and Password to log in.

How do I get another diploma?

Send a written request for another copy of your diploma to the Registrar’s Office.  Include your name as you would like it to appear on the diploma, your SU ID number, degree and date received, and a check for the $25 fee.

When will I receive my diploma?

Diplomas are mailed approximately 4-6 weeks after the graduation ceremony.

How and when do I apply for graduation?

Graduation applications are available on the Student Information System. Upon log-on, select "Registrar", then "Graduation Application". Applications (along with the degree fee) must be submitted by the deadline specified at the beginning of each semester.

Where do I apply for satisfactory/unsatisfactory (sometimes called pass/fail)?

The form is available in the Registrar's Office and must be completed by the specified deadline.  No exceptions.

How do I apply to audit a class?

Audit forms with instructions are available in the Registrar’s Office and www.ship.edu/admin/registrar/forms.html. They must be completed and returned to the Registrar’s Office by the end of the first week of the semester.

How do undergraduate students withdraw from the university?

Contact your academic dean's Office

What is a leave of absence and how do I apply for one?

A leave of absence will permit you to leave the university for a period of time and return at the beginning of a specified semester without applying for readmission to the university.  You may contact your academic dean's office to apply for leave of absence.

Where do I get the name & phone number of my roommate before the semester begins?

How do I change my meal plan?

How can I get a detailed receipt of course(s) scheduled with fees via phone?

Contact Student Accounts Office for receipt of payment at (717) 477-1211. Course schedule and academic record may be viewed by logging into the Student Information System at info.ship.edu.

How long do incoming students have to make payment before late fees apply?

Late fee applies to students who do not pay by the billing due date.

What is the deadline to schedule?

You have until the end of online scheduling to schedule online.  You may schedule after bills are sent by calling the scheduling office at (717) 477-1136 and making payment via credit card before classes begin.

Why can’t I schedule when my student status is "admitted"?

You need to return your confirmation form to the Admissions Office.

How do I schedule if I have not yet completed the loan approval process?

If online scheduling is closed, you should have Financial Aid contact the Registrar’s Office to verify that aid is pending.

How can I schedule a course requiring departmental approval or a closed course?

Contact the department to request permission to add the class and the department will either schedule student directly or send/email permission to the Registrar's office.

How do I schedule a closed or restricted class after I have received verbal permission from my advisor or department?

The department should email permission to the Registrar's office; or if online scheduling is in progress, the department will schedule the class directly.

Why can’t I schedule online?

If you are not confirmed, check with Admissions.  If you are confirmed AND online scheduling is in progress, contact the Registrar’s Office to see if there is a problem with your student ID card.

How do I add/drop computer science course(s), if I do not have department approval?

Student should have computer science department email Registrar's Office with approval to add/drop course or have the department chair sign the Add/Drop CER form.

How do I apply for Act 48 credits?

When you schedule online you can choose an option to have your credits submitted for Act 48 credit.  If you don't choose the option when you schedule, you may call or email the Registrar's office with the course number and title, and your name, address, phone number, and SU ID number and we will submit the information.  All information will be submitted to PDE after the end of each semester: in January after the fall semester; in June after the spring semester, and in September after the summer terms.

How do I pay for classes via phone with a credit card?

You should contact Student Accounts if a bill has been received.  Contact the Registrar’s Office to schedule and pay if class is not yet scheduled AND online scheduling is over.

How do I schedule if I have a hold against my record?

You will not be able to schedule until all holds are cleared. Contact the office that placed the hold.

How do I pay for my courses by signing a promissory note?

Graduate students do not have to withdraw from the university since they have seven years to complete the master’s degree.
