How much are parking permits and when will they expire?
A. The cost for all student parking decals is
- $50.00 for
the first decal; additional decals for the same student are $5.00. The
cost for all faculty and staff parking decals are $1.00 for every decal
purchased. Permits are valid from September 1 of each year to August 31
of the following year.

What type of decal do I get?
A.
Commuter students will receive a C-Decal; this will permit you to park
in the Commuter Parking Lots. Resident students who have obtained at least
60 credits will receive a R-Decal; this will permit students to park in
the Resident Parking Lots. Freshman and sophomore students will be issued
a "Storage Parking Only" decal. The Storage Lot is the only
place you can park 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Faculty will receive
a F-Decal. Staff will receive a S-Decal. Contractors will receive a contractor
decal. Visitors will be issued a visitor parking pass. Cars with Commuter
"C" decals and Resident "R" decals may park in Faculty
and Staff parking areas after 6 p.m. until 3 a.m. only, unless otherwise
posted.

Where can I pay my parking tickets?
A.
Parking tickets, with remittance, can be mailed with the envelope provided
or paid at the University Police Department. The department is open 24 hours a
day 7 days a week. In addition, payment may be placed in the ticket fine boxes which are located in the CUB and at the entrance to the police station.

What time can I park without a parking permit?
A.
Parking permits are required 24 hours a day, Monday through Friday. Weekend
visitors require parking permit as well.

Where can I purchase a parking permit?
A.
Parking permits may be purchased at the University Police Department located
in the Reed Operations Center. The department is open 24 hours a day, 7 days
a week, for your convenience.

May I purchase a permit for just one semester?
A.
Parking permits are for the entire college year and are not sold by semester.

May I transfer my decal to another vehicle?
A.
Decals are not transferable from one vehicle to another.

Do I have to place my decal on my bumper?
A.
Parking decals must be permanently affixed either to the right rear bumper
or a to metal bracket which is permanently attached to the right rear
of the vehicle. Decals may not be displayed in the rear view window.

If a friend comes to visit me, do they need a parking pass?
A.
Yes, they must register their vehicle with the University Police, located
in the Reed Operations Center. This department is open 24 hours a day, 7 days
a week, for your convenience. All visitors will be assigned a lot in which
to park.

How do I file a parking ticket appeal?
A.
Violators may appeal their parking ticket by writing within 120 hours
(five days) after the violation to the Director of Public Safety. Appeals
not resolved by the Director of Public Safety may be forwarded to the
University Parking and Appeals Committee, at the request of the student. The Appeals Committee decision will be final.

If I am a freshman or sophomore student who has to park in the Storage
Parking Lot 24 hours a day, how do I load my vehicle to go home?
A.
If you have large items to place in your vehicle or to unload from your
vehicle, you must call the University Police and inform the that you will
be parked infront of your residence hall while you are loading or unloading
your vehicle. You will be permitted 15 minutes to load or unload your
vehicle. If you receive a parking ticket while loading or unloading and
did not call the Police Department, you will be responsible for the payment
of the ticket.

How many parking tickets can I receive?
A.
You can only receive (5) parking tickets during the entire college year.
If you have (3) unpaid tickets, your vehicle will be booted. The boot
will not be removed from your vehicle until all tickets are paid. Once
you have (5) or more paid or unpaid parking tickets, you will also have
your vehicle booted. If you receive two boots during the college year,
your parking privilege will be taken away for that college year. You will
not be allowed to operate a vehicle on the University property during
this time. If your vehicle is located on the campus, it will be towed.

Do Graduate Students Need a Parking Decal?
A.
Everyone who parks a vehicle on campus needs a parking decal or parking
permit. Graduate Students need them even for evening parking and for the
summer sessions.

As a Student, How Do I Know Where To Park?
A.
All parking lots are marked with posted signs: C-Decal for commuter students,
R-Decal for resident students, and Storage Parking for Freshman and Sophomore
students. Students must park in the lots marked with the posted signs.
In adddition, all student parking lots are painted in White lines and
Faculty and Staff parking lots are painted in Yellow parking lines.

- Parking rules
and regulations remain in effect throughout the academic year, INCLUDING
THE SUMMER. Individuals should park only in appropriately designated
areas as indicated on their decal. During the summer months, students
may park in any STUDENT parking lot with any student decal. They MAY NOT
park in any faculty or staff lot at any time.
