New students will complete components of the orientation program in three parts. These components will assist you in your transition to Ship while providing just-in-time information as you prepare to begin this Spring. Part I – Discover Ship! Online Orientation Experience:All new students can explore campus resources at their own pace through an online orientation experience. This program will include information to assist you with your academic and personal success at Ship. All new students will be required to complete this portal before the beginning of the spring semester. You can access your online experience by logging in with their Ship email and password at https://orientation.ship.edu/.
Part II - New Student Orientation:All new students (first-year & transfer students) must attend an orientation program. During this program, you will participate in small group discussions with Student Ambassadors/Peer Anchors and your peers to foster new friendships and connections. Additionally, you will learn about the First-Year Experience/Transferring to Ship and academic expectations. Click here to view the schedule & register for orientation on Friday, January 19, 2024
Part III: Welcome Weekend (January 19th-21st)Welcome Weekend is a continuation of orientation to help new students adjust to life at Ship and continue to make connections. We have a great weekend planned for you to engage with your classmates and adapt to life on campus. Participating in these activities is a great way to meet new Shipmates and have fun before the semester starts. We highly encourage all new students to attend, especially those living on campus. Students will register to attend events when they register for Spring Orientation. |
