 Shippensburg University's International Student Population hosts students from all around the globe. Countries represented include Argentina, Australia, Canada, China, Denmark, Ecuador, Egypt, Gabon, Germany, India, Jamaica, Japan, Kenya, Korea, Niger, Nigeria, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Thailand, The Netherlands, Trinidad and Tobago, United Kingdom, and Vietnam.

What is the deadline to apply for admission?

Generally, applications for admission should be submitted at least four months prior to the semester in which you would like to enroll. We recommend submitting your application early because it will allow sufficient time to process all documents, render an admission decision, and begin the visa processing.

What are the steps for transferring to SHIP from another American institution?

If you are currently attending a college or university in the United States, you must submit a copy of your current I-20.  You must also complete the SEVIS Transfer Form for International Students and return it to the Office of Admissions. International Students who are looking to transfer to SHIP should follow the Undergraduate International Application procedures or Graduate International Application procedures.

What types of Scholarships or financial assistance are available?

Undergraduate Applicants are eligible for the John F. Kennedy International Student Scholarship. General information about the scholarship can be found on the International Student Services page; detailed information can be found on the John F. Kennedy Scholarship page.

Graduate applicants may apply for a graduate assistantship, which provides a waiver of tuition only, and a small stipend.

What are the requirements concerning campus housing? 

Campus housing is available for undergraduate international students only. There is no on-campus housing for graduate students except during the summer terms. For information regarding on-campus or off-campus housing contact the Office of the Dean of Students at or +1-717-477-1164  

How can I pay my semester bill?

Payment Options for International Students

International Students may pay online by credit card (with a 2.5% convenience fee). We accept the following major credit cards: MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Shippensburg University does not accept Visa Credit Cards.
