Accounting : This student club allows you to explore career alternatives in your area(s) of study. Professionals from public accounting, private industry, and nonprofit organizations meet with students to share their experiences and provide guidance. Club members share their academic and internship experiences with each other, and plan field trips.

Alpha Kappa Psi: This coed fraternity is the oldest professional business fraternity in the United States. This organization gives members the opportunity to hold chair positions and gain valuable leadership and organizational experience, while providing great networking opportunities. Former fraternity members have formed close and lasting friendships. Alpha Kappa Psi participates in many service projects on campus and in the surrounding community. With their continued involvement in the College of Business, AKPsi has also been able to hold many professional events such as the Etiquette for Success Academy, Dean’s List Reception, Blue and Gold Banquet, and more.

American Marketing Association: Ship’s local chapter of the organization whose goal it is to prepare students to transition from the classroom to the business world. You will be given the opportunity to apply marketing ideas and concepts in planning, organizing, and executing club activities. The club offers its members the chance to hear marketing professionals’ presentations about their firms and business experiences.

Human Resource Management Club: The Student Affiliate Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) at Shippensburg University promotes the ideas and principles of human resource management. Information Systems & Analytics Club: The ISA club professional association was formed to help business majors expand their vision of information systems. Investment Club : An organization of students interested in careers in finance-related fields such as financial consultants, planners, real estate professionals, and positions at various financial institutions. Activities include speakers with outside professional backgrounds and trips to the New York Stock Exchange. The Investment Club also serves as an entree to the Ship Global Collegiate Fund. Programs of Interest
Investment Management Program (IMP): The Investment Management Program (FIN434 and FIN435) is a finance course in which real money portfolios are managed by students. Investments are held by the Shippensburg University Foundation, which accepts and implements student recommendations. The course is conducted in a seminar format led by the students. Typically, there is one faculty member designated as “professor of record” for administrative purposes, but there are often several faculty present and available for consultation. When an additional academic skill is needed, faculty from other areas and/or business professionals can be invited to lend their expertise to the class. While the core responsibility of the class is to manage the investments in a given portfolio, presentations before official groups associated with the university (e.g., College of Business Advisory Board, Finance Advisory Council) have been made upon request. In addition, interpersonal skills, especially in working with small groups, will be developed during the semester.
Prerequisite: Senior status, completion of required documents, and approval of the Department.
