2 Boys' Basketball Camp

General Camp Information

1. All phases of the game of basketball will be instructed during the camp by a professional staff.
2. Every camper will receive individual attention.
3. An evaluation of every camper will be sent to their parents at the conclusion of the camp week.
4. A camp All-Star Team will be selected from both junior and senior divisions.
5. One-on-one competition.
6. Foul shooting competition.
7. Swimming, tennis, sand volleyball, and much more available.
8. The total resident plan includes meals, lodging, T-shirt, instruction, limited medical insurance, and a camp basketball. The commuter plan includes T-shirt, instruction, limited medical insurance, and a camp basketball.
9. There will be round-the-clock supervision for each camper.
10.Housing: Only two participants will be assigned to a room. Two sheets, one pillowcase and a pillow are provided. No towels, washcloths, or blankets are provided. Bring a light blanket, washcloths and towels with you. Coin operated
washers and dryers are available in the residence hall.
11.Key Policy: Campers who do not turn in their room key at camp dismissal will be subject to a lock change fee (ranging from $25-$40). For security reasons, lock changes must be made immediately before the next group arrives. Keys returned after check out is not permissible. There will be no exceptions.
12.Pre-register early. Registrations are accepted on a firstcome, first-served basis.
13.A certificate of health must be presented by each participant at the camp’s registration. A standard form will be sent upon acceptance. This form does not require a physician’s examination or signature. Requests for accommodations, auxiliary aids or services should be made in writing to the Office of Disability Services at least fifteen (15) days before the camp begins. The Offi ce of Disability Services is located in Horton Hall 120, Shippensburg University, 1871 Old Main Drive, Shippensburg, PA 17257-2299, (717) 477- 1329.
14.Absolutely no visitation by family members during the week unless permission is granted by the camp director. Experience has shown that the campers are more receptive to instruction and less stressful when outside adults are not present.
15.Young campers (ages 9-11) should try to attend with a friend. This helps with homesickness and makes the camp experience more enjoyable for the camper.

Camp philosophy

Shippensburg University plans to provide an experience that you and your son(s) will remember throughout your lives. By offering this overnight camp, you can enjoy the father/son bond of friendship and encouragement while developing your basketball skills. Director Dave Springer and his SU staff and players will provide detailed instruction to both son and father.
Our goal is to outline a basic skill development program that parents can employ to help their son practice and improve in the fundamentals of basketball.

• Develop position specific fundamental and advanced concepts. You will experience the same instruction, drills and concepts that Shippensburg players are drilled on every day during basketball season.
• Designed to help future and current college bound prospects reach their full potential.

• Intensive session conducted in Heiges Field House with specialized instruction provided by the Shippensburg Coaching Staff and Players.
