Fast Pitch Softball Camp
General Information
The total resident plan which includes meals, lodging, T-shirt, instruction, limited medical insurance, and a camp gift is $320. The commuter plan includes T-shirt, instruction, limited medical insurance, and a camp gift. Commuters may choose from four different plans: no meals is $205; four lunches is $228; four lunches and four dinners is $256; or four breakfasts, four lunches, and four dinners is $273.
Things to bring to camp (label your gear) include: bat, glove or mitt, hat/visor, helmet, sneakers, old clothing, sun screen, swimsuit, blanket, and other necessities if boarding. Catchers need their own gear, i.e., mask, chest protector, shin guards.
Only two participants will be assigned to a room. Two sheets, one pillowcase and a pillow are provided. No towels, washcloths or blankets are provided. Coin operated washers and dryers are available in the residence hall.
All participants are to check in on Sunday, June 15 or July 6 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. An organizational meeting will be held before the first session on Sunday. Camp will end on Thursday at 3:00 p.m. Camper pick up will be between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m.
A certificate of health must be presented by each participant at the camp's registration. A standard form will be sent upon acceptance. This form does not require a physician's examination or signature.
Objectives
This is an intense high impact camp designed to improve individual skills regardless of the player's current skill level.
The objectives will be reached by intense and concentrated practice of fundamental skills and techniques of softball.
Designed to develop and improve players' individual skills and competition performance. Intense one-on-one instruction. Six hours of instruction, analysis, and games per day.
Features
All participants will generally practice and play in their own age groups (9-10), (11-12), (13-14), and (15-18). However, dependent upon skill level, we reserve the right to move a participant up or down the age groups.
All campers will receive instruction in hitting, infield, and outfield. If you wish instruction in pitching or catching, you must select one of the two as your primary position.
The participant will have the use of all the latest training aids including soft toss and pitching machines, batting cages, speed guns, soft hand gloves, wrist watch bats and clicker stick bats.

Staff
The camp will be taught by the Shippensburg University coaching staff and a select group of highly qualified coaches and collegiate players. The camper/staff ratio will be approximately 12:1. The permanent staff for the camp includes the following:

Facilities
The SU Fast Pitch Softball Camp will be conducted on the beautiful Shippensburg University campus which includes three softball diamonds and a large instructional area. Two fields are equipped with lights for night games and practices. Indoor facilities will be available in case of inclement weather.
During the evening recreational activity period, opportunities will be available to use the 9 lighted tennis courts, indoor/outdoor basketball courts (if available), sand volleyball courts, 4 handball courts, swimming pool, and weight training room.
All participants will be housed in a modern residence hall and supervised by qualified counselors.
Meals are served at the University dining hall where a quality diet will be provided.
Health & Disability Services
The university's Etter Health Center, with a nurse on duty 24 hours a day, is available to any camper needing medical attention. Requests for accommodations, auxiliary aids or services must be made in writing to the Office of Social Equity at least fifteen (15) days before the camp begins. Lost Key Policy
Campers who do not turn in their room key at camp dismissal will be subject to a lock change fee (ranging from $25-$40). For security reasons, lock changes must be made immediately before the next group arrives. Keys returned after check out is not permissible. There will be no exceptions.
