The Career, Mentoring, and Professional Development Center (CMPDC) provides student/alumni-centered career and professional development programs, experiences, and learning opportunities to assist students to develop and achieve personal and professional goals. The Center will implement career and professional development program initiatives through service-learning, employer and alumni collaboration, and outreach on and off the University campus to foster campus and community partnerships.
The Career, Mentoring, and Professional Development Center (CMPDC) aspires to focus on creating an environment of student centeredness exhibiting professionalism, responsiveness, reflection, social responsibility, and collaboration in order for students to realize and achieve their professional potential.
Meet the Team
Lorie Davis: Lorie is the Executive Director of Work Force Development at the CMPDC. Lorie's focuses on working with employers and alumni to create a career mentoring network for students. She manages all employer relations for the Career, Mentoring and Professional Development Center. Prior to working in the Career Center, she served as the Director of Alumni Career Services and Outreach. Victoria Kerr: Victoria is the Director of Career Development at the CMPDC. Since starting at Shippensburg University in 2013, Victoria loves developing new and innovative programs designed to assist students in reaching their academic and career goals. She is passionate about connecting students to their purpose and developing those interests, skills, and abilities into a successful career path. Previous to Ship, she served as the Director of the Career Development Center/ Undeclared Students at Shepherd University. Victoria holds a Master of Arts in College Student Development from Shepherd University and a Bachelor of Arts in Law and Society from American University. Kimberly Rockwell: Kimberly has been with Shippensburg University for over five years. Kimberly provides administrative support within the Career, Mentoring, and Professional Development Center. She loves working with our SU students and being able to watch their journeys from students to professionals. She earned her Associates Degree in Social Services from Harrisburg Community College in 2012. Kimberly resides in Shippensburg with her family. Meaghan Williams: Meaghan is a Graduate Assistant Career Counselor for the CMPDC working with undergraduate, graduate and first-year-out alumni. She provides counsel on resumes/ cover letters, job/ internship searches, graduate school applications, and interview preparation. Some other responsibilities include coordinating marketing and logistics for CMPD events and workshops. Her favorite quote is, "In a world of cheerios, be a fruitloop" - Anonymous.
