What Will I Learn?
You will learn problem solving, develop laboratory skills and gain an understanding of how and why chemical changes occur. The initial core courses establish a foundation in general and organic chemistry. Electives allow you to take courses based on your interests.
What are the requirements for this degree?
Students interested in completing the chemistry minor must complete 23-27 credits in chemistry course work. Of those credits, seven are in chemistry courses at the 300 or 400 level.
What Types of Careers Could I Get With This Degree?
This minor is a great complement to many majors seeing as chemistry-related careers also include management, production, sales and marketing. These are some common careers for those who study chemistry:

What Kinds of Experiences Could I Have?
You should expect a rigorous mathematical treatment of the underlying physical principles of chemistry to be the emphasis of the lecture curriculum, while the laboratory curriculum focuses on the practical application of theory and the development of universal laboratory techniques.
Students may consider joining the Chemistry Club. Participation in activities and services through the club look great on a resume. It’s also a great way to network and create lasting relationships.
