Programs And Workshops 2017-2018
We understand how the abuse of numerous substances can impact our community, institution, and students. The Community Drug Take Back And Safe Disposal Day is sponsored by the Office of Connection Drug and Alcohol Services. We are always looking to partner with neighboring university, community, law enforcement partners to ensure that these controlled substances get off of the street.
The Connection - Drug and Alcohol Services Office is offering free wellness screening online at: http://interwork.sdsu.edu/echeckup/usa/alc/coll/Shippensburg/
Please take advantage of this great opportunity. However, please note that the screening does not replace an actual face-to-face meeting. If you are looking to schedule or speak to someone about wellness concerns, please call: 717.477.1481 or stop by University Counseling Center inside of Naugle Ground Floor.
The Connection - Drug and Alcohol Services Office worked with Chartwell Dining Services at Shippensburg University and purchased tons of fresh fruit, granola bars, and bottled water to offer students healthy alternatives to prescription pills and other drugs that may be misused during a highly stressful time of the year.
The Office of Connection Drug and Alcohol Services partnered with the Office of Housing and Residence Life to offer students a realistic experience of the dangers of partying.
The overall purpose of session: Decrease high risk drinking incidents | Decrease first year alcohol related offenses | Increase education about alcohol poisoning | Increase students ability to learn and use resistance strategies.
Topics of Party House include: Drinking Games | Interpersonal Violence | Drinking and Driving | Peer Pressure | Medical Amensty | Drug Abuse/Use
