We know that there will be a great deal of interest not only in the process, but also in the candidates. As understandable as that is, please be aware of the need for absolute confidentiality with which the process must be conducted. This confidentiality is important because it enables us to recruit candidates already serving in executive positions at various institutions around the nation. I ask that you do not ask or pressure search committee members to share any information about the identity of candidates or the evaluation process. If we do not protect the confidentiality of our search process, we risk losing some of the best candidates.
