DHC Writing Lab and Tutoring

DHC 002 

The English Department computer lab is conveniently located in Dauphin Humanities Center (DHC) 002. The lab is open to all students and faculty members and is staffed by free writing tutors, who have been trained to assist students in need of help with their writing assignments.

Meet the 2017-2018 English Department
Writing Tutors

 

Megan Reif is an English Major with a Writing Concentration and a Technical/Professional Communications Minor.  She hopes to one day work in publishing. She is excited to improve her skills as well as help her fellow classmates with improving their writing throughout this semester. 

 

Henry Le is a senior English major with a concentration in Literary Studies and two minors, one in Women's and Gender Studies and one in Sociology. He is also a Resident Assistant in Harley Hall and the secretary for the chapter of the National Residence Hall Honorary here at Ship. He's very excited to work with all the budding writers and is looking forward to work through the writing process with everyone.

 

Gabby Binando is a junior Psychology major who loves to hang out with her friends and family. She loves outdoor activities like hiking and is very excited to see her students grow as both writers and individuals.

The Student Help Desk

The Student Help Desk, located in MCT054, provides free technical support for personal computers to all students enrolled at Shippensburg University. 

Wireless Printing Options

You may print to a lab printer from your personal computer if you are connected to the campus wireless network. Follow the instructions on the above link to add a lab printer option to your personal computer.  

Recommended Antivirus Protection 

Free Avira and Sophos Antivirus protection for personal computers is available for students and faculty. Visit the Antivirus Installation page and following the links for Windows or Mac users. You may also access several online virus scanner  options to perform maintenance and clean-up.

Microsoft Office Suite

Technology Services offers free subscription to the Microsoft Office Suite to all students. It can be downloaded on PC, Mac, and mobile devices such as the iPad.
