Exercise Science Club

The Exercise Science Club was founded in 2006. Its primary focus is on helping students interested in the area of exercise and physical activity explore options in professional development, mentorship, fellowship, and community service. Through the years of student-faculty leadership, the club has engaged in social activities that foster relationships, hosted guest speakers, and explored regional graduate programs. The club has also offered assistance to students to attend the regional ACSM conference each fall and organized educational field trips to Baltimore and Philadelphia. To help fund these activities, the club has sold t-shirts and sweatshirts.

The Exercise Science Club has actively provided service to the campus community. Members have participated in numerous volunteer opportunities such as: completing fitness assessments at the SU Wellness Fair, hosting a table to discuss the importance of blood pressure readings at the Go Red for Women event, and assisting with the Get Moving series that encourages SU employees to engage in physical activity and exercise. Being a member of the Exercise Science Club is a great way to (a) develop team building and leadership skills, (b) become involved with campus and community activities, and (c) meet other students interested in physical activity and exercise.
