Scholarships and Loans
Freshman
scholarship recipients are selected by a committee of university faculty and
administrators. All applicants to the university ranked in the upper 40 percent
of their high school senior class and with combined SAT scores over 1000 will
automatically be considered for these awards. There
is no separate scholarship application to complete.

Early application to the university is strongly encouraged as scholarships are limited. Applicants are encouraged to prepare an essay for consideration by the Scholarship Committee. The essay should be submitted with the admissions application. The Scholarship Committee will begin making awards in October to students who are planning to enroll in the Fall semester. Awards will continue to be offered on a rolling basis throughout the winter and early spring. All scholarship recipients will be notified of their awards by April 1st.
Scholarships and low interest loans to attend Shippensburg University are available from a variety of private, government, and university sources. Students are encouraged to contact local libraries, foundations, civic and business organizations, and use the Internet to collect information about scholarships and low interest loans available from other private sources.
Many of the scholarships and the low interest loans listed here were established through contributions from alumni, friends, corporations, and associates of the Shippensburg University Foundation, a not-for-profit organization incorporated in 1977 to support the university's programs and services.
