Tuition
How much is tuition at SU?
Tuition is set by the Board of Governors of the State System of Higher Education as part of its annual budget process. Current information is maintained on the Student Accounts website.
How much will you pay?
To determine how much financial assistance you need in order to attend Shippensburg University, the Financial Aid Office performs a "need analysis" based upon confidential information you provide in the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). These applications are available either from your high school guidance office or from the Financial Aid Office. This analysis takes into consideration your own assets, any supplemental income you earn, and any scholarships or awards other than those administered by the university. It considers your family's income, debts, assets, number of dependents, number of family members presently attending college, and other factors that affect your family's ability to help you with your education.
Free financial aid estimators are offered through the internet at http://www.finaid.org. These online estimators offer an immediate response concerning your possible financial aid but will not include estimates for the Pennsylvania State Grant. (Note: The estimator does not replace the actual application! To apply for financial aid, you will still need to complete an Application for Federal Student Aid.)
Our Installment Payment Plan
As an alternative to paying the student bill in full at the beginning of each semester, the university offers a prepayment plan that allows four equal monthly payments prior to the semester. The prepayment plan involves a nominal charge and is available to all full-time university students. Contact our Student Accounts Office for more details, (717)-477-1211.
