International Development Minor

The international development minor is required for Shippensburg University's Peace Corps Prep Program. The Peace Corps awards a certificate to students who complete the international development minor and additional leadership and career requirements. Graduates with a Peace Corps Prep Certificate are twice as likely to be accepted for Peace Corps service.

What Will I Learn?

This program prepares you for Peace Corps service and/or careers in international development. Core courses help you develop the intercultural competence you need to engaged thoughtfully and fluidly across cultures. You'll also choose one work sector concentration that corresponds to the six types of international development jobs in the Peace Corps:

  • Youth in development
  • Community economic development
